Our Goals
1. Ensure the accuracy of the PBGC’s final determination of PC-3 benefits. This will include a full understanding of plan valuations as established by asset values and PBGC recoveries during bankruptcy.
2. Validate the PBGC’s application of the five year look-back provisions of Internal Revenue Code (IRC), Section 401(a) (17) relating to the maximum compensation that could be applied to the Delta Pilots Pension Plan (DPPP) in the calculation of PC-3 benefits.
3. Validate the PBGC’s application of the three year look-back provisions of IRC, Section 415(b) (1) (a), relating to the maximum annuity that can be paid in the calculation of PC-3 benefits.
4. Engage in efforts with the National Retiree Legislative Network (NRLN) to support legislation that will benefit Delta pilot retirees principally, and other retirees secondarily.
5. Engage in efforts singularly or along with the Delta Airlines Retirement Committee (DALRC), the Delta Disabled Pilots and Pilot Survivors Association (DDPSA), the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), or any other organization to protect the earned health care, insurance and survivor benefit programs of Delta pilot retirees and their spouses.
6. Provide retired Delta pilots with a source of information and representation in matters pertaining to our earned retirement benefits.
7. Aid and assist survivors of retired Delta pilots.
8. Continually remind Delta managers and the public of the injustice of terminating the Delta Pilots’ Pension Plan while agreeing to pay the merged Northwest Airlines pilot retirees their full retirement benefits.
