The Board of Trustees of DP3 is governed by the By-Laws as published in this Web Page. The Trustees have, from time to time and in accordance with those By-Laws, instituted Policies for the management of the DP3 and the organization´s relationship with the members.
Communications
- A link to the DP3 web Privacy Policy is provided at the bottom of the each web page.
- All e-mails sent to DP3 will be answered by a designated Trustee according to a system designed by the Secretary. The response to the member sending the e-mail will be "Blind Copied" to all other Trustees for information and possible further comment.
- E-Mail messages and comments posted on our BLOG are moderated by the board and may be published on our web page or BLOG at our discretion. Published comments are subject to certain restrictions, listed below. Remember that member comments published on our BLOG represent the views of the author, are not verified for accuracy, and should not be considered the official view of DP3 or its Board of Trustees.
- We will publish meaningful input that is intended to provide guidance, encouragement, or meaningful criticism relating to current or future initiatives.
- As a forward looking organization, we will not publish complaints about issues more than a year old that are not still current issues.
- We will not publish disparaging comments about any individual.
- We will insist on appropriate language at all times.
- Comments may be edited and/or combined with other comments for clarity and brevity.
- Email sent by our mail service to an inactive email address permanently removes that email address from the database. Therefore, it is the responsibility of each member to keep the board advised of their current contact information, particularly their current email address as DP3 uses email as our primary communications tool.
Membership
- Full membership in DP3 requires the payment of all dues and assessments.; The term "Honor Roll" member means an individual who has paid all dues and assessments. The Honor Roll will be updated monthly and posted on the DP3 web page.
- The method and timeliness of dues payment is at the discretion of the Board of Trustees. Annual Dues payments, normally set during the first board meeting of the calendar year, will be due and payable each year by March 31 to maintain Honor Roll status.
- DP3 was founded to represent its members in litigation to defend the earned benefits of the Delta pilot retiree. Past agreements made by DP3 have benefited all Delta pilot retirees to some extent or another. However, in a legal dispute with the PBGC only "Honor Roll" members will be represented. All others will have to engage their own counsel. Representation by legal counsel is required under PBGC policy for challenges to benefit assignments.
- A deadline for attaining Honor Roll status will be imposed in order to satisfy requirements for representation by the DP3 attorneys in any legal action that may be taken. For challenges to PBGC final benefits, you must be an Honor Roll member within 15 days of receipt of your Final Determination letter.
- Widows and survivors who are no longer receiving a PBGC benefit under the Single Life annuity option but may have back benefits will not be required to pay further dues and assessments to remain in the appeal. Widows and survivors who are still receiving a PBGC benefit under the Joint and Survivor annuity option and may have back and future benefits shall continue to pay further dues and assessments to remain in the appeal. The divorced spouse of a retired member or the member shall pay further dues and assessments to remain in the appeal. Dp3 can not be a party to the QDRO split and only needs one full set of dues and assessnments.
Financial
DP3's financial records are open to all Honor Roll members. Honor Roll members who wish to view DP3's financial records should contact the DP3 Treasurer.
